September 2018 – BTS 1, BTS 2, BTS 3

New Features

  • Application Exercises now have a rubric to allow for teacher grading
    • The rubric contains four elements students get graded on with score options of: 4 (exceeds expectations); 3 (meets expectations); 2 (approaches expectations); 1 (does not meet expectations)
    • Final score will be out of a possible 16 points and give a percentage
    • Once the rubric is scored, teachers can decide to send either the participation score (100%) or the rubric score to the gradebook
      • Once either score is sent to the gradebook, it will be visible to students

Improvement

  • Digital Literacy Assessment raw data report (available for Coordinators) now includes duration data
  • New icon for all Application Exercises
  • Application Exercise time-out period for students is now 45 minutes
  • If students have not completed work on an Application Exercise, the Teacher Dashboard reflects that more information is pending and guides teachers to where to go to preview the item
  • Updated EasyCode Foundations Scope and Sequence
    • Reflects updates and additions to challenges by CodeMonkey
  • Updated many state and national standard sets to improve the specificity of alignment to specific content
    • This is part of an ongoing effort to maintain updated standards alignments

Bug Fixes

  • The ‘post’ button in the ‘Online Communication: Sharing Safely Online’ Lesson is now visible whether or not the student is in full-screen mode in the browser
  • EasyTech Plug and Play now includes the 6th – 8th Technology Course Pacing
  • Keyboarding: Home Row’ is now in the 4th grade Plug and Play sequence
  • ‘Be Money Smart’ Inquiry Project no longer instructs students to divide by fractions
  • Teachers and students no longer need to refresh screens to see automatically sent scores
  • Application Exercise Teacher Dashboard
    • No longer shows a continuous loading circle for certain paths
    • Teachers no longer get an ‘Oops’ error when sorting by status
    • When a score is visible as 100% in the gradebook, the student no longer shows as ‘in progress’ in the Dashboard
    • Only applicable Application Exercises are visible in the Teacher Dashboard
    • Status in the Teacher Dashboard correctly displays as ‘In Progress’ (when applicable)
    • Teachers no longer get errors when choosing ‘Reassign’ from the student detail display
  • Screen-reader software will register the button functions in the header in the Application Exercise student view
  • Computational Thinking unit Application Exercises have updated instructional times to more accurately reflect time students will spend on them

Improvement

  • Score-type labels updated for clarity:
    • ‘Automatically Graded’: the grade will automatically post to the gradebook
    • ‘Manually Graded’: teachers can review and enter a grade manually or use a grader application to assist in reviewing and grading student work
    • ‘Mixed Graded’: work is graded through options including participation and teacher-assessment via a rubric to provide flexibility in the type of score sent to the gradebook
