Launching Learning.com items from the library will put teachers into a demo mode. This will NOT save any progress or data. EasyCode Foundations and EasyCode Pillars respond the same way.
EasyCode Pillars:
When a teacher is launching a Codesters item from the Library there is no “Class” context for that user’s grades and no other data to be connected to. Instead a “demo” mode will launch, where the teacher can do the project but does not actually save any of the work. The core coding functionality has been implemented in this demo mode but several extended features of the platform have not, such as:
-
Creating blocks in the toolkit
-
User sprite image upload
-
Google Forms/Sheets API
-
Classmarker Quizzes
-
File read/write
-
And more
To be able to use any of these features in Learning.com, the teacher must launch the assignment from the “Assignments” tab in one of their classes instead of through the Library. This will put them in “Student Mode” with an option to “Exit to Class Dashboard”.
