Create a Web Link

Teachers can create their own curriculum items. Web Links are best for accessing web content outside of Learning.com, and are graded pass or fail. To start, click My Resources. Click the Items icon. Click Create Item. Select Journal and click Next. Click Next after every section. Click Save any time during this process. We recommend saving as often as you would for any word processing program.

Step 1: Details Page, Categories, and Standards

  • Enter a name and a description.
  • Select a Scoring Scheme, Estimated Time, and Grade Range
  • Enter Keywords and Objectives
  • Select category alignments from the three-column taxonomy browser
  • Select standards alignments from the three-column standards browser

Step 2: Write a Lesson Plan

  • Add a lesson plan. Remember, a lesson plan should be a well-developed guideline for implementation, can be easily modified and implemented in a variety of classrooms, and components are well-sequenced, and easy to follow for the reader.
  • Enhance the lesson plan with attachments, links, or videos

Step 3: Install the Learning.com Bookmarklet

  • Install the Learning.com bookmarklet, a browser add-on that can create My Resources Web Links in a few clicks.
  • Access instructions for adding the bookmarklet via the Create Item button.
